Miniclave

The Glass Pressure Reactor For Safe Small Scale Experiments

The Miniclave is a small scale pressure vessel rated to 10 bar at 100o C or 6 bar at 150o C. The simple design of the Miniclave emphasises safety. Its main components are:

  • Glass reactor with nominal capacities of 100 or 200 ml, calibrated at 50 ml intervals
  • Stainless steel holder for the glass reactor which provides optimum protection against fragments
  • Cover made of glass reinforced PTFE, with four 1/4" NPT ports. The Viton O-ring provides the seal.
  • Bursting disc assembly 10 bar
  • Needle valve PFA

Options

  • Vacuum/pressure gauge -1/+15 bar with PTFE diaphragm
  • Thermometer sleeve glass/PFA
  • Kalrez O-ring
  • Glass reactor with a nominal capacity of 200 ml, graduated at 50 ml

Safety

Optimum safety is assured with the bursting disk rated to 10 bar at 100o C or 6 bar at 150o C. To observe the pressure, a gauge can be installed

The reactor is completely enclosed in a protective cage.

The bursting pressure of undamaged Miniclaves is a multiple of their maximum allowable working conditions.

There is also the Miniclave Drive, a version of the Miniclave with integrated magnetic coupling. On a smaller scale (10-25ml), the Tinyclave is available.
